CB2-Skin™ Biofunctional is an extract derived from Patchouli. An effective ingredient for relieving irritated skin, it activates the body’s CB2 cannabinoid receptors which provides remarkable calming, and comforting benefits.

How does CB2-Skin Biofunctional work?

The most remarkable thing about CB2-Skin™ Biofunctional is its effect on a marker in the body known as TRPV1.

We produce more TRPV1 when the skin is irritated or inflamed – such as when it’s been reddened by sunburn or has developed dermatitis.

CB2-Skin™ Biofunctional helps to calm this by triggering the body’s CB2 receptor to release of beta-endorphins that calm irritation and improve skin comfort.

What are the benefits of CB2-Skin?

A skin-comforting active, CB2-Skin™ Biofunctional is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin and skin affected by acne. Used in our Alexandra Kay body oil blends, this soothing active provides the following benefits:

  • Calms discomfort by relaxing and soothing the skin
  • Reduces skin irritation and itchiness
  • Improves skin barrier function to protect against irritation
  • Supports collagen regeneration

Is CB2-Skin Biofunctional a natural and sustainable ingredient?

Yes, it is an extract of Patchouli and certified natural by COSMOS. It is also cruelty free and suitable for vegans.

CB2-Skin™ Biofunctional is sustainably farmed from Colombia, and fully traced from farm to skin. A community-supporting commodity, farmers have good working conditions and funds from the growth of this crop contribute to the social development of their rural communities.

Which products contain CB2-Skin Biofunctional?

You will find CB2-Skin™ Biofunctional in Alexandra Kay Time to Soothe Body Oil and Alexandra Kay Time to Ease Muscle Relax Body Oil which make it easy to support the balance of the skin as you tease tension from the body.

These natural body and massage oils are ideal for:

  1. WHEN TENSION STOPS YOU SLEEPING

If muscle tension interrupts your rest time, use as a massage oil and tease away knots and tension. Each bottle of Time to Soothe and Time to Relax Ease Muscle Body Oil will provide enough slip for approximately 20 neck and shoulder massages and 5 full-body massages.

  1. IF YOU EXPERIENCE EXERCISE ACHES

If you notice any tension after your working day or workout, you can use Time to Relax for a soothing massage or mix with our Scent Free Bath & Shower Gel and add to bath water to help bring calming relief to niggles whilst you rest body and mind.

  1. WHEN YOUR JOINTS SEIZE

If stiff joints make movement uncomfortable, work a little Time to Ease Muscle Relax Body Oil onto the affected area to relieve tenderness and stiffness. This can be particularly helpful if inflammation causes your joints to feel stiff in the morning or late at night.

  1. WHEN YOUR SKIN ITCHES

If dry skin makes your skin itch, work a little Time to Soothe onto the affected area to calm the discomfort.
